
The connected car has become a major instrument for automotive manufacturers. But for now, the technology is only being used in a restricted way and is commonly only used for car owner’s features. To integrate the car in everyday life and increase the car’s meaningful usage time, the technology can be used to grant access to connected car features also for third party service & partners. Features like “Beeb & flash”, “lock & unlock” or locate the car by the car owners is already present today.

Most private vehicles are usually parked more unused than they are actually used on the road. What can a connected car service, in sort of an additional mobile application look like and how can it increase the usage time of the car and lead to a relief of everyday life?
On a shopping trip, people always have to carry along their shopping bags back to the car themselves. Also ordered packages must also be accepted or picked up by the people themselves. A connected car with its interfaces to external applications can be used to establish new services between the car owner and its vehicle and several third parties like parcel carriers or shopping centers to make the life more comfortable with their cars.
